Fried Chicken

Homemade Fried Chicken
This is the recipe that my family uses. When we make fried chicken, we do not necessarily measure out each ingredient. These are all roughly the measurements of what we use. When making this recipe for you and your family, use spices and amounts of each that you and your family like.

What you'll need...
Chicken (I make one leg and one thigh per person)
2 eggs
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 tablespoon season salt
1 tablespoon black pepper
kosher salt
Vegetable oil

To Make Fried Chicken...
  1. Heat about one inch of oil in a deep skillet to about 350 Degrees F. In a bowl, mix flour, onion powder, garlic powder, season salt, and half of the black pepper.
  2. In a separate bowl, scramble eggs and mix in a dash of kosher salt and the other half of the black pepper.
  3. Pat dry the chicken with paper towels and dip in the egg mixture. After chicken is dipped in egg, coat chicken in flour mixture.Preheat oven to 300 Degrees F.
  4. Place chicken in frying oil. Cook until golden brown on each side. Thigh pieces take about 10-13 minutes on each side. Legs take about 5-7 minutes on each side. When chicken is golden brown, place on a rack that has been put on a baking sheet. Place chicken in the oven until your ready to eat.

Enjoy!!
